Hi folks! We've been kicking around the Maritimes, playing shows with our pals and getting in some end-of-season camping before the frost arrives. Here's a little rewind to summertime jams & being sleeveless 90% of the time. Cover of The Mamas & the Papas classic below, shot by the lovely Southern Souls:
Well, we survived our first tour to QC & ON! Thanks to all the old and new friends who hosted us, fed us and came out to the shows. If you're in Halifax, Bus Stop on Friday, July 22 (hey that's tonight!) at 8:30pm is the official album release with the lovely cactusflower & The Everywheres.
We recorded this Southern Souls video (thanks, Mitch!) while in Toronto and The Coast graciously premiered it for us:
Today's the day-- All Dressed is available for purchase!
We can't say enough about the amazing folks who helped us put the record together: producer/wizard Jay Crocker, drummer delight Matt Gallant, Asa Brosius on the pedal steel, Andrew the Great at Headless Owl Records, Glen Leck for the layout, Trev/Matt/Shauna at Pigeon Row for spreading the word, Meags Fitzgeraldfor her beautiful illustration for the LP, and on and on... so many talented, supportive friends we are grateful for.
So, have a listen. Grab a copy. Come see us play if you can make it to one of these lovely cities: darkfordark.com/tour
Thanks again to our pals at Exclaim! for premiering the EP we made last year with drummer extraordinaire Matt Gallant & producer Jay Crocker, our favourite wizard of sound. Check back on Friday to buy the album for your very own, but have a sneaky listen now!
Feast your screen-weary eyes on this analog beaut: tour poster by Deep Hollow Print, letterpress printed on a 1930s era Vandercook press. Hand-fed, hand-inked using wood and metal type as well as hand-carved lino block image. Whoa. Laura, thanks for your artistry & craft.
Excited to hit the road in July for these album release dates. We'll have 7" with full album downloads and some other goodies to share!
